the spoils

Can you guess which child of mine sorts and lines up his/her candy like an obsessive compulsive? [Hint: This child is the most like me.]

What is your favorite candy? See's aside, my favorite is a toss up between Milk Duds and Kit Kats.

Mr. Coleman took the kiddies trick-or-treating with his friend T.D. and then they went and saw a movie together: Couples Retreat. Do you think I should be worried?

And, I am starting my 50,000 words TODAY!!! I am so excited, I've been having a hard time sleeping. So, even though it's not Friday, I want to start with this little teaser. It's the epigraph I am thinking of using at the beginning:

The sun that sets may rise again
but when our light has sunk into the earth
it is gone forever.
-Catullus

And my working title: Against the Dying Light

  1. My favorite candy bar is a Kit Kat, my favorite chocolate is Almond Roca, and my favorite candy is Nerds.

I like the epitaph and I really like your working title. Of course, I have no idea what your story's about, so I'm not sure how well it fits. But, I'm sure you know what you're doing, so they'll work nicely with the story! :)

  2. It's going to be great - I can't wait to hear more, then have you sign everything I have, against the day that you're wildly famous. =)

As soon as Carlie came home, she categorized hers, also... this year by color. I say Take 5 takes it all, ousting my life-time love Snickers when it came out. PB cups are hard to argue with, and if I ever get set in front of Almond Joys or Twix, I will gain an instant few pounds because it's impossible to stop. The goal is not to touch their candy this year. So far, so good.

  3. I used to organize my candy too! And then I'd put all the gross things in my little brother or sister's stash. My favorite candy bars are Take 5 or Midnight Milky Way. I also LOVE Sweet's Dark Chocolate Orange Sticks. I also occasionally enjoy Tootsie Rolls- but you have to mix flavors. Twist together a cherry tootsie and a chocolate one it's tasty!

I'm excited to hear about your NaNoWriMo experience. I keep toying with the idea of doing it, but the underachiever in me keeps asking if I really want another thing to do! haha! Good luck and happy writing!

  4. I'm going to guess it was CaseyAnne :) Lilly was doing the same thing when I was over there. Take 5 is the best candy bard, followed by Baby Ruth, then Twix, then Reeses... yeah I love them all. Unfortunately.

    I love that quote.

My friend Kayla is doing the NaNoWriMo too:
