lepidoptera love

there are one hundred things i should be doing right now besides blogging, but you know me: play first, work [harder/faster] later.

we finally photographed the makeover of emma's room, in which she requested butterflies. take a peek!

close-up of the butterfly migration. emma painted the flowers in the polkadot pot. tempra on canvas.

emma helped me design the artwork below [and seen framed in her room], including colors and her favorite saying from a children's song. if you'd like to make your own print , click on the image below, then print on 8 1/2x11 textured paper. we love arches drawing paper. trim down to 8x10 if desired.
if i have time, i'll post some before pictures and some more details.

  1. it's beautiful. Maybe next time when you come visit, you might have to do a double take. We just might have a room decorated exactly like this in a few months.

  2. I have to admit I've stalked your blog from Kathryn's because I just have to say that this room is amazing. Great job. I love it all. I am in the middle of an art project having my boys paint something for their rooms, though we are more into outer space and robots around here.

  3. A darling room for that darling little Emma. I saw that print and wondered what someone would wonder if they saw something like in my house, Where'd you buy it? Duh. It's you. YOU make things like that.

  6. So I have to ask. Did you make her bedding? Because I have been looking for bedding in that blueish color. Also where did you find those butterflies! I love it all, very beautiful.

  10. I am in awe of you and your daughter's talents! What a lovely bedroom! I love the peaceful feel of it.
Sadly, my girls inherited my sense of decoration... a little style we like to call laundry explosion. We're all working on mending that little character flaw this year! :)
