confessional

i think it's about time for another confessional. don't you?

i am a procrastinator. i started making a list of all the things i have been putting off, but then i decided to wait and do it later. [things like: finish sewing my mother's present for her birthday...which was in august] i have piles in every room of things i started or am waiting to start and never get around to. it's a sickness.

i cried the other day while my piano student was playing für elise because it was so beautiful. does this make me crazy? highly possible.

i am afraid of our renter, who lives in our rental house next door. this is an unfounded fear, but it still stops me from going outside or tending my garden like i should be. possibly it's related to her thin-white-tank-top-no-bra-55-year-old-body, but is that a real reason to be afraid? i don't know.

i am terrified of grasshoppers. i would rather kill a mouse, spider, snake, cockroach, scorpion, ANYTHING.

i cannot master the art of the self portrait. either it's a shot up my nose [see above] or just a corner of my head and all background.

i have lost the desire to read, which used to be the one thing i'd rather do over any thing else.

i just finished watching the complete series of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and i loved it.* i can see why so many people claim it was the greatest television series of all time. i actually was going to write a whole post on it, but changed my mind. i can't think of a single person to recommend it to.

i have joined the general population in the over use of the exclamation mark. comments on facebook and replies to email just seem more friendly sprinkled with a few! don't you think?!

*could possibly be the cause of afore mentioned loss of desire to read

  1. A. you're crazy. I love the self portrait of you.
    B. And we better find you something to read & fast!
    C. Hello, ME. Buffy. Did you just say I should watch it?
    D. I always, always over use those darn exclamation points cause otherwise my comments sound jerky.

  2. I love your self-portrait. I think it's great. It looks very reflective (meaning introspective not glowy).

I'll make a deal with you. I'll kill the grasshoppers if you kill the spiders.

I understand the art of procrastination. I'm very much the same way. I have piles of crochet projects that I haven't finished because I don't force myself to (or because of the lack of time factor; either way it doesn't get done).

I am probably the one person who hasn't see all of Buffy. I've only seen a few episodes here and there. I liked them; I just haven't got into them enough to watch all the episodes. Could be the lack of time thing.

Keep being you, which is awesome! I look up to you so much in so many ways!

  3. I love your confessions. And I have to confess, I share almost every single one of them. Luckily, most of those things are not crucial to your eternal salvation.

I'm having the same problem with books right now. Why don't I want to read?

We should work on projects together - I get more done when someone's watching.

  4. I'd be scared to confess what's going on in my world right now. People would run and hide in fear OR call the nice young men who are all dressed in white.... Love your confessions though. Gosh, darn it, you sound like a REAL person. ;) Oh, and the scared of your neighbor one really cracks me up....

  6. Your confessionals always make me laugh. Is procrastination genetic? I am the worst ever. At least you wear cute earings when you procrastinate. :)

  7. one-handed typing... does it make me insane, or is it just my confessional that this post makes me feel strangely good? you're such a superwoman, and i look up to you in so many ways, 2, like your other readers here, so a little confessional from you does the rest of us a service =) and now i'm afraid of your renter, too.

  8. Crying at Fur Elise does not make you crazy. I teared up watching a jump roping halftime show on YouTube the other day... and it wasn't even touching! I was just amazed at the talented girls. (And I wasn't PMSing either!)

I go through book slumps regularly. I usually have to pick up an all-time favorite to snap myself out of it.

I don't mind grasshoppers, but crickets give me the shivers. My high school was invaded by them while I was in marching band. I remember marching and not being able to break the line and having to crunch all over them. And then the smell of all those nasty insect bodies deteriorating! *shudders*

I love Buffy, too! A good place to go after Buffy are the other Joss Whedon shows like Firefly or Dollhouse. Although, I'd recommend Firefly more, just ignore the first episode because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Oh, and apparently I'm incapable of smiling without my mouth hanging half open. Every recent picture of me involves a nice view of my back molars and a few tonsils.

Ah, it feels good to get all that off my chest. A good confessional makes life a lot more bearable! (And lets throw in a few extra exclamation points just for kicks and giggles!!!)
